Feature request: Qobuz integration
« on: May 09, 2021, 08:38:11 am »

Hi,
this is a long standing request.
However the world is pushing in the direction of the streamers, why do you refuse to take this into account?
Thanks

Why do you think we refuse to take it into account?

We just don't do everything that can be done.  We focus.

It's NOT something I think.
It's NOT the first time that I ask the same question and you (or someone else in your company) told me that it was a business on which you were NOT interested.
What I mean by integration?
For sure the possibility of having the same UI inside MC, but, more importantly, to see the "favorites" as they were in the local library.
And, last but not least, "render" the stream of Qobuz, bypassing completely its desktop application.

I would like to be able to stream Qobuz from inside JRiver too.  I listen to a mix of local files and streamed files from Qobuz, I like JRiver a lot, but have to leave it and use other software for streaming.  I fully intend to keep subscribing to JRiver, would just like to listen to all of my music with this software.

As I am just using JRiver for audio, I see myself switching more and more to Volumio.
Advantage of JRiver are the smart playlists and library management, in which they exceed.
I've just upgraded to MC28 for the last time, as I don't expect that JRiver will change it's view on integrating streaming, because of bad experience with Tidal (thanks Awesome Donkey).

There are some good alternatives for Audio, with Qobuz, Tidal and Tidal connect integration.
like: Audirvana, Roon, Volumio

It was Tidal, not Spotify.

I don't work for JRiver... I help keep the forums safe from Viagra and other sources of sketchy pharmaceuticals.

With edge integration ... i guess its possible to access streaming services within MC (similar to what beeing done to Netflix)

But tighter integration (like creating playlist from different streaming services mix with local stuff) is a tougher cookie ... possibly requiring JRiver to work directly with those services, which i don't see happening
