apt repository suppressed?
« on: June 25, 2021, 07:00:34 am »

Hi!
Sorry to bother but has been the apt repository suppressed for the version 28.x? Obviously I've seen the .deb images in the related thread but the questions are:
  • auto-update work with .deb?
  • can I run MC27 installed via apt alongside MC28 installed by .deb image?
Because I don't see a thread for the MC28 apt repository... maybe it's too early?

I haven't had a chance yet to update and create the MC28 APT repository tutorial (along with the Ubuntu/Mint tutorial), as I recently got the second COVID-19 vaccine shot and I've been dealing with pretty bad fatigue side effects from it.

I'll see if I can soldier through the APT repository tutorial at some point today. Though if you read the MC27 tutorial and substitute 27 with 28 for the latest and beta repositories (as the stable repository which doesn't exist yet for MC28 last I checked) you should be able to get it going pretty easily.

P.S. The answer to both of your questions is yes once the MC28 APT repository tutorial is posted and used.

And it's done. This was a quick copy, paste and edit job. There's a chance I missed things but at first glance it looks right.

No problem, enjoy. :)

P.S. The Ubuntu/Linux Mint tutorial is up as well. I feel like I need a nap now, hahaha.
