Clip Protection
« on: November 26, 2021, 10:05:42 pm »

I've been using MC 28 on mac (big sur) for a couple months now. I just got around to doing some listening tests between clip protection and flat line overflows mode. This whole time I've been on the default ( clip protection). I was surprised by how much clip protection alters dynamic range, timbre, and textures...
I was equally as surprised to realize how much brighter everything sounds with flat line overflows. I'M not really a fan of having a automated limiter masking the dynamics nor having an overly bright sound. Has anyone else noticed this?  Is there a way to make my player have neutral dynamics and flat frequency response without having to resort to EQ plugins. thanks
