General Q'q about the software
« on: February 23, 2022, 08:16:42 am »

Hopefully I will get info here..

I got v23 and v24

My HTPC is windows with JRiver v24

Im going to get latest obviously in the next few days, provoding I have enough money left after bills and toys.

As I have the v23 and v24 licences - Are they still valid if I throw, say v24 onto a Linux box... Instead of the Windows box?

I will do some tests to make sure that I am happy with it, and then I will put v29 on when that arrives... ( or v28, I dont care? )

That PC is only actually running Windows Media Center ( win 10 with the MCE installer ) but we have not used that for so long and now its only actually using JRiver24

I got v23 on another PC that I am just using for a giggle.

One other small thought... Does the MediaCenter remote work under Linux?

I have the Windows remotes and receivers, but under JRiver & Windows, only a few buttons actually work... Enough to select stop and play a video, but Volume, but nothing else. Its fine of course like that, but does it work in Linux? We also use a wireless keyboard with a pad built in.

You can install an old version and use your license with it.  The license must match the version of MC.

You could install MC28 instead and use the trial period.

All the software remotes work with the Linux version.
