Switching from Roon

Hi

I 'm not a tech person - I just want to play music
Roon is the best I have found so far - but I find it a bit flaky ( and slow )
So looking a JRiver - so already , I have hit a issue
my volume buttons on my I mac won't work any more

Is there a quick fix or should I not bother and stick with roon ?

I was expecting JRiver to just work

It should just work.  Try the settings for audio in MC Options.  https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Audio_Setup#OSX

If not, please describe what you're playing to.

MC and the Mac sometimes need a little reminder who's in charge. When this happens to me, I do a mouse click in the volume bar section of MC.
