playlist or play queue just stops
« on: April 10, 2022, 03:55:50 pm »

Dear JRiver,

This is happening all the time, and it's a problem:

If I queue up some albums, the player will just stop playing the music about halfway through. How can I remedy this?

Mac Big Sur, Mac mini 2018, Media Center 27. My music files are on an external usb hard drive.

Please advise!

with thanks.

What is the playback device?

Did it ever work?  What changed?

I think my Mac's sleep procedure might be responsible. It happens when music has been playing for a while, and nothing much else is happening on the computer. Just hitting enter makes the music resume. Can you advise? I like to leave the music playing for hours at a time. I think it may be a question of somehow making the Mac OS not go to sleep when music is playing. Is there an adjustment I can make on the mac to make it not go to sleep when Media Center is running? Or do I just have to turn off the sleep function completely? I hope this is clear. thanks.

If you are playing on the device itself try turning on the option
Tools->Options->Audio->Settings->Disable Display from Turning off (Useful for HDMI audio)

If that doesn't do it you might try the MC29 trialware to see if that fixes it.
We had to make a bunch of changes for Big Sur for power management and sleep.
