I've done a bit of searching to see if this was an issue that other users were experiencing in media center, and I was able to find this forum thread a couple years ago about it

The issue I am having is that Media Center doesn't seem to be seeing all of the metadata in mka files in my library. Specifically, the album art, year and album title tags are missing. This results in these files being jumbled together in my library with all of the other mka files from the same artist, and also just not fitting in properly into my library on Media Center. I'll put two screenshots below of what the tags should look like, and what it ends up looking like with mka files in MC.
