Downloaded - Options in Tools greyed out ? Exit programme, restart mac - same. Download and reinstall - same issue. Reset and restored Licence, options remains greyed out any ideas please? Thank you

I just upgraded to 29.0.66 to try this out.  It works normally for me.  I select the Tools menu and Options is at the bottom of the that menu.  Clicking options brings up the Options dialog which seems to work.

Did you install MC29 into the Applications folder?  Did you drag it to Applications and then wait for it to copy?  Then launch it from Applications?

It's a fairly common problem to launch MC directly from the installation DMG, which does weird things.

It shouldn't matter, but do you have a library of files imported?

Are you running on a single machine?  Or client/server?

How old is the Mac.  What OS?

Thank you Jim and Brian for the v quick responses.

Mac Studio. OS. latest Montrey - MC was updated this morning from previous version which was fine - music files are on a NAS. I reinstalled previous 29 version and tools greyed out on this too. Reinstalled 29 29 0 6 and options remains greyed out as does cover art options and other tools. Screen shot attached.

I installed as per installation instructions

MC ver 29 29 0 58 on mac mini late 2012 - music fies on NAS - one instance of J River running at one time only - no greyed out tools on this version and I have not updated to 29 29 066 yet.

I have one odd thought:  Your original version of MC might still be running in the background.  Maybe as "media server".  If so, when you start the new version, MC will probably be in "read only mode", which might make this happen.

Look at your dock and see if MC is running.   Look at the upper bar and see if you see the MC icon up there.  If so, try to quit the old version.

Perhaps just reboot your computer to make it simple and start "fresh". Then fire up the new MC again see what you see.

I ve used MC since build 19 (2014) and I have not changed 'Skins" Jim until today!

Brian, I had considered your 'running in background and library server' thoughts. I double checked.

The solution - I discovered I was running in Party mode (not sure how that occurred - undoubtably my operator error) - all back to normal.
