where can I get MC9.0.88?
« on: March 11, 2003, 01:18:59 am »

I had problems with 9.0.124 and the link I used to get 9.0.88 has been replaced with that one, so I've had to revert to MJ8x which is nowhere near as snazzy as MC9 even in the older versions.... anyone know how I can get hold of it again, please?

If you change the link you are downloading from and replace the 124 bit with 123 you could redownlaod 123... 9.0.88 has not been available for ages...why would you want to go back that far???  That is pre unicode changes and evrything that has been done since...thats a lot of changes...

OK thanks I'll give that a go... to be honest I didn't look too closely at the number of the version that worked for me, because it worked OK.... it's only after getting one that worked badly that I started worrying about nos.

123 was not a good build.  124 was the best so far.

What problem did you have?  Did you post here?

builds 123 and 124 give me CDtext or not, depending on whether it is selected or not, but the actual audio content of the CD is garbled... too fast... see thread on Garbled CD output for details.

thanks

maybe the unicode changes are my problem :'( I've made too many coasters recently. I need to output several audio CDs per week, and 9.0.88 is the most recent version that actually gave me an output I could use... obviously the best thing would be to have an even newer version that doesn't garble my audio output or jealously hold on to my CDs until reboot, but 9.0.88 will do nicely for now... going back to 8x works, but isn't half as much fun

These are the tech specs for the earliest version I can get my hands on... which doesn't work for me

like JimH already stated, 0.88 is a looooonngg way back, but if you really must have it, I've put it here for you....

http://foc.no-ip.com/files/MediaCenter90088.exe

For it's time (in the developement cycle) it was one of the best releases. I seem to remember sticking with this one while the early unicode releases were hammered into shape.

Thanks for all your help. You were right... I downloaded that one and installed it and it doesn't look anything like the 9x that worked for me.... I'm totally lost now.... I'll just have to stick with the 8 for now, dreaming of a 9 that decides to like my GCE 8400B CD burner.

thanks again
