Atmos

Greetings,

I am new here and a long time user of VLC. I have been reading about JRiver for quite some time now.

I use my pc exclusively for audio and video through an AVR.

I have many .mkv movie files encoded with Dolby Atmos. I have read through the threads here and other online forums about .mkv files and dolby atmos working and not working with JRiver.

So I am very confused. Before I make the purchase, does JRiver play the doby atmos movie files on my pc. All my HT components support Dolby Atmos.

If the answer is out there, I am to ignorant to find it.

Thank you.

Jeff

Hi,
Yes, Atmos works playing MKV files with JRiver.
You just have to output the MKV as Bitstream to your Receiver.

Bitstreaming is described under Output Encoding here:
