IdPi won't boot - black screen

I have been using IdPi for about 2 years now. We had some storms last week and now I can't get IdPi to even boot. My Raspberry Pi still works because I can still run Volumio and Moode (I just dislike them).

Any suggestions. I can provide my license to JRiver employees.

It's possible the mSD card could have been corrupted if there was a power outage.

Do you see an error message when you try to boot it? Do you see anything when you boot it?

When you say that Volumio and Moode still run, does that mean other mSD cards will boot in the same Pi?

OK, I did a poorer troubleshooting job than usual. So here is where I am.

I was running IdPi off of a RPi 4 (4GB). It appears that the storm wiped out the hdmi control chip on the board so it has no video output. I had Moode and Volumio set to no local gui so I didn't bother to check if there was video output. I just just checked to see if it worked and played music. Like I said piss poor troubleshooting, but in my defense, several electronics got hit in this last storm so I was a bit pissed when I was trying to fix things lol.

I have an extra board, a Rpi 4 (8 GB). I get a RPi boot screen but IdPi won't load. The error message states that the Pi needs newer software and goes into a loop while trying to load various packages.

So, does IdPi run on the newer 8GB boards or did SD card become corrupted?

The IdPi should be able to run on the newer 8GB RPi boards. I haven't tested the 8GB version, though. However, IdPi mSD card needs an update to work on the newer hardware. I don't remember if this update can be downloaded from the IdPi main menu (option 12) or if it requires rebuilding the card. Do you have an older RPi that still works? If you do, you might be able to plug the IdPi card into the older RPi and update the card.

Other than the 8GB version, I don't have a working RPi and they are a bit too expensive and scarce right now to buy one for just this purpose.

Well this sucks.
