DAC connection drops frequently
« on: October 22, 2022, 02:24:02 pm »

Hi all.

I am hoping someone can help me trace this issue I am having.
I have a Yamaha RX-A2A receiver.  It is connected to my PC via HDMI which only supports up to 192kHz.

I have discovered though that is is picked up over the network and in that mode it supports up to DSD256 and sounds amazing.

I am having an issue though where it seems to drop the connection after about anywhere from 5 - 20 songs.  When it reconnects only the currently playing song is still in the playlist (And continues playing btw even though the device is no longer visible in the list)

But I have to re-add or re-create the playlist in order for it to play past that one song.

The network connection is hard wired from the PC to the switch to the Receiver.
How can I figure out if it is the receiver that is dropping the connection or the PC or JRiver MC?

Running MC 29.087
Please let me know what other info I can provide to help diagnose this?

Thanks.

Carl.
