JRiver for Android Crashes
« on: September 12, 2023, 08:07:04 pm »

After installing the latest version. When I add the default music folder, JRiver will then crash after like 5 seconds. Is this a bug or can it be fixed or is there a temp fix?

Try clearing the cache in Android settings for the app.

Power off and on.

Hi Jim, thanks for responding. I cleared the cache and the data and rebooted my phone by turning it off and then back on again. I tried adding the default music folder again and JRiver for Android crashed. However, I can add a network location and that has no issue. I even cleared the Cache and Data and force stopped and then uninstalled. I also made sure there were no traces of JRiver for Android before restarting and then reinstalling. It still crashes when I try to add any local folder. FYI, I am using the unlocked version of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 512GB storage and 12GB RAM.

I also use the Neutron Music player. I uninstalled that as well to test and cleared all cache and still no luck.

It might be a particular audio file that is causing problems.  Can you please try to import a folder containing a few mp3's to see if it still crashes?

Sorry for the late response. To answer your question: No, it did not crash. I found the problem. It was a CD quality flac. What I noticed is that it did not like the song name length. Song in question is:
-
In the Air Tonight (Ben Liebrand Extended Version).flac
-
It's a remixed Phil Collins song that I purchased on Qobuz. Changing the name and shortening it seemed to have fixed this issue
