Feature Request: Discord Integration
« on: October 28, 2023, 05:44:25 am »

Good day,

Short question; will JRiver ever get support for Discord rich presence, to display the music one is listening to, just like Spotify.
I think I've already seen 5 topics about this.

Thanks.

That's not what he's referring to. He's referring to it showing other people (friends, people in servers on Discord, etc) what your listening to off your Discord profile.

Yeah, it's not a streaming service, it's basically a chat/direct messaging app. And it has an API that's public, specifically setting the status to what you're listening to would likely use this: https://discord.com/developers/docs/rich-presence/how-to

Would love to see this too. :D

I don't work for JRiver... I help keep the forums safe from "male enhancements" and other sources of sketchy pharmaceuticals.

You just need to whip up a simple script to poll MCWS for the playback state and on change set your Rich Presence. It seems like the current method, RPC that's popular is being deprecated in favor of their Game SDK.
