I was wondering if anyone knows why my copy of JRiver keeps crashing, I recently updated from v26.
I recall when I started using Media Center it would crash quite often, v26 had been quite stable, but after updating I seem to be back to crashes.

Today, I just right click on the Media Server icon and click 'show Media center', it briefly loads then crashes.

Have you configured Windows Defender?

I had not configured Windows defender, for anti-virus I'm using Mcafee internet security, and the firewall seems to be Defender and Mcafee.

I have just been reading this on Defender..

... but it only seems relevant if using defender as antivirus.

Along the same lines I have just now excluded the JRiver .exe files from Mcafee.

I've added all the .dll and .exe files etc from the exclusion lists for JRiver to the Mcafee antivirus.
Mcafee does not seem to have an option to add folders.

After every reboot, when I click on the Media Server icon in the task bar and select 'show media center' it loads then crashes.

It will run after this, but really would like to try to stop it crashing after a reboot.

I tried backing up the library, uninstalling, reboot, re-install, still no change.

Please uninstall McAfee and configure Windows Defender.  It's all you need. 

It's very likely your crash is because of McAfee.
