Author Topic: [BUG] Portable device / folder not persisiting afer MC31 restart.  (Read 539 times)

Environment:
MC31 as server on a Win 10 machine
Clients on both Win 10 and Mac machines.
Win and Mac latest OS and MC31 versions.
Same issue on Win and Mac clients.

Under options/Handhelds/add device I set up either a folder or USB drive (same behaviour for either) as a "device".
Device works for that session only.
When I shut down client MC and restart device is no longer there.
Using a USB drive dried ejecting and reinstalling but no difference.
I can add the device again but it will not persist in the next session.

Did not have this issue with my last version MC18 with same environment.

Would be really helpful if I could get this going. I have attached the log for my Win 10 client if that helps.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Try enabling authentication on the server.  Without logging in, nothing is saved on the client.

Maybe you weren't connected to a server when you did that with MC18.  In that case, your settings would be saved on the client.

Thanks for the reply.

Authentication has always been on and MC18 setup (server/client) was identical to current MC31.

Forgot to mention I also had MC22 which did not have this issue.

Also, for clarification the "devices and Folders" are specific to the client computer.

It's possible some security software is preventing a write.

Turned off security on server and client. Also turned off VPN. No change.

Also tried locating the "device and Drive" folder on the server machine (vs the client). No change.

I've searched Interact and google but haven't seen anyone complaining of similar issue.

At the moment I'm calling it a bug.
