"Any chance of direct support?"
"Windows on Arm, probably not"
"Not likely to run JRiver Media Center."
"Windows on ARM runs most apps, not just those optimized for ARM.
However, it appears that a few apps will not run."
"Eventually there will be JRiver customers that actually can test the situation and report back. Until then we are just waving our arms hoping that it means something."
"[Who's] gonna pull the trigger?"

I take it that all of this means that MC has no plans for adopting to run under ARM natively and has no definitive plan for thorough testing in emulation mode. Please correct me if I am mistaken.
It's almost a month later and general experiences with the new laptops are being reported. AI aside, they seem to be lighter, smaller, do not heat up as much, are therefore not as noisy, run longer on their batteries and are performing well vs. the last generation of intel chips. In other words they are giving laptop owners more of what laptops are supposed to provide.
I upgraded from MC 23 to MC 32 recently with a view to upgrading my laptop as well. But for MC I would be looking at one of the ARM models. But I am stuck. Could be that older laptops will be heavily discounted and I should go that way.
But what is the future for laptops and can anyone answer specifically for MC? I do appreciate this dialog.
