RTX features
« on: July 23, 2024, 11:01:52 am »

all time change profile in nv inspector? you can do this. and rtx upscale too, this only works in chrome for now... so even some movies with ugly unacceptable quality in netflix in chrome looks like super quality(:almost:)... i believe you can do this too. i have some old days videos and would be cool if you add same stuff that can use chrome browser. for sdr i can change profile in nvinspector, but for use rtx upscale i can do nothing:(
thank you

If you are referring to Nvidia Super video resolution, then I'm not sure about JRiver. however, the best browser to use that fully supports RTX video features is Microsoft Edge. Edge also fully supports 4k protected and non-protected content. As for jriver, I believe it uses Edge in the backend for browser stuff (please add or correct me).

i don't know enough for correct you:) in my case edge and chrome works same, however chrome and i guess edge too won't play sound in all formats like avi or mkv, would be cool if jriver will rendering by any thing developer want any formats and any codecs we use all rtx stuff like rtx hdr for sdr video, and rtx upscaling. if it possible of course.

I can not use rtx upscaling in jriver, but i can use rtx hdr if change the profile in modified nvinspector, the place there true hdr, xml modified profile inspector. but this is not very convenient. and anyways no rtx upscaling.

I have many sdr movies, and some hdr movies with very bad quality of hdr, so i thinking to found them in sdr and watch with rtx hdr.

I have some old movies that would be really better with upscaling rtx. new high resolution sdr can live without  upscaling.

this nvidia things real miracle, i was skeptical about hdr can be added by ai, before first time watch the sdr in chrome with rtx hdr. so all sdr games and movies now in hdr:) but if settings will inside jriver, and will be activated automatically only with sdr that's would be cool, now i need all time change the nvinspector settings for the jriver, for sdr enabled rtx hdr for hdr disabled. it's some time force me to watch certain video, because too lazy for change settings:) this is really big deal

p.s. edge play sound:) question is  how to change their sound track, i just start one mkv sdr there for test, and  it started with director comments track:)

Edge has better settings. Make sure you scroll over to see the settings.

Within Edge (or the embedded WebView2 Edge in this case) it'd depend on the website you're viewing video content on, whether or not they have any change audio track feature. I would assume they don't.

online is no problem, i'm talking about only play video files in edge, with more than one audio track inside the video. chrome even don't play sound in some files, edge just take one of sound, and how to change to another i have no idea

Again, it would have to depend on the site streaming video from. A lot of sites use basic video players with little to no options. Sites like YouTube provide some options but they don't have options, like an option to change audio tracks, for a video.

It's probably not really up to MC in this case, as embedded web browsers (Edge and Chromium) are external components and not part of the "main" MC app. This is why to pipe the embedded web browser's audio through MC you have to use the WDM driver.

we have still misunderstanding. when i watch netflix i do it last time with windows store app, that give me opportunity to watch sdr video in rtx hdr. month ago rtx hdr works in edge and in chrome for netflix... so, i don't talk about online services, i don't use jriver for this. i watch saved video on my pc, some of them sdr some of them sdr low resolution, so best way it's upgrade jriver for rtx features. if i open saved on pc avi, mkv files in chrome, i haven't sound, if i open them in edge, the browser take first or probably last audio track inside the video, and no chance to change it. if i open that files in jriver, i can change audio content, but jriver haven't rtx features, and i use true hdr trick, that can made jriver to play sdr as rtx hdr, but nothing can force to use rtx upscaling. true hdr convenient for games, because sdr games will always sdr, and you don't need to change settings all time. video can be hdr, so i must disable true hdr in nvinspector for watch hdr video, and for watch sdr, set true hdr enabled. i talking about edge as it can play sound and use rtx upscaling and rtx hdr for video on my pc. but i have no idea how to change there sound track, as example one of my video in sdr edge opens with director's comment, and not original or dubbing. i actually don't want to watch my video files in edge, i want watch all movies exclude online netflix, in jriver, and if in theory exist opportunity to add rtx upscaling and rtx hdr that will works automatically with sdr movies, and doesn't for ultrahd(hdr4k). i'd want to know if it even possible, but nobody answers. so probably this is possible, but nobody care.

RTX will not work When playing any protected content through the actual Netflix app that you install through the Windows Store or through any RTX supported browser. Why, RTX Super Video resolution (or any AI upscallers) doesn't work with protected content which includes all Netflix content. For 4K HDR, you need to install the HEVC video extension in order to watch Netflix in 4k HDR/Dolby Vision/ATMOS. After you install the HEVC video extension then you can add Netflix to the "Theater View Configuration" in "JRiver settings/Theater View" (any resolution less than 4k will play in HDR without the extension, but no AI upscaling protected content). Once added you can open Theater View and click on Netflix (Make sure HDR is already enable before launching JRiver). Also, JRiver has three AI upscaling choices to choose from: FSRCNNX 16 and FSRCNNX 8 and RAVU. As for Netflix Within JRiver, it uses the Edge browser engine. Any AI upscaling will play if the content played is not copyright protected (this includes any video you rip from Netflix).

i don't watch netflix in jriver. i'm talking about only offline video files avi and mkv. only. no netflix no secured content.

avi and mkv files, all of them that sdr, i can watch in rtx hdr in jriver, if use true hdr trick in nvinspector. there need to change 4 parameters. and i ask jriver creator(s) to add rtx hdr and rtx upscaling inside the jriver, that will works automatically if it possible.
and i ask about edge browser watching avi and mkv not secured files, not netflix content. how to change audio track in edge if i open there avi or mkv. not netflix, amazon, youtube, not online. only offline, saved files that edge open always with rtx hdr, but i don't know how to change there audio track... i even don't need it, it's just curious. general request is - add inside jriver same function as have edge rtx upscaling and hdr for sdr content for only offline files mkv, avi, ts... whatever it is. any way thank you for information, very interesting, but this is not what i ask for. thank you!

and about netflix... it's a twilight zone. some time i can watch sdr netflix movies in edge or chrome as hdr, some time i can do this in windows store netflix app, and some time the video still same. and always sdr content in pre watch windows when you move mouse on it looks like hdr, but even this not constant and wasn't so before. so actually i never know when netflix will open sdr(hd) with or without rtx hdr features. or and upscaling. one movies was really ugly pixelated sdr months, then one day i open it, and it was upscaled and with rtx hdr. so you can't say something constant/permanent about netflix ever.

I'm not exactly sure why RTX is not in the JRiver code. However, if I were to speculate then I think for now "FSRCNNX 16 and FSRCNNX 8 and RAVU" is what they prefer to use whereas RTX is proprietary, and most hardware does not support it as the 20, 30, and 40 series of cards is just a small Nitch in all JRiver's users. My own opinion says that I think that JRiver will eventually implement the feature when Nvidia slowly phases out older non-RTX cards as RTX will then become more of a demand.

this is ridiculous. thanx for advise. now i have one more netflix player is jriver. works cool, but same as win app. i just watched dracula untold. and then started teaser of another movie. well. the teaser was absolutely perfect rtxed upscaled and hdred... and when i start the movie was same pixelated #@%^@ as before in chrome, edge and win netflix app. what there going on? what the !@$!% there going on?! the no blaming jriver it's works as it can in netflix. but this is most madness stuff in the software world i had seen. i'm don't kidding. teaser absolutely stunning on full monitor size. and movie itself with two millimeters pixels. are they crazy or what? so they take our money, and give us crappy movies, just for people go to that stupid popcorn halls? funny is when i thinking to unsubscribe from netflix there appear something cool with perfect or good enough quality, what i didn't saw yet lol... other funny thing, that pixelated !@$#@!% i found on torrent with same netflix format, but much more better quality(but not so cool as in the teaser)... i told you. this is ridiculous.
i still with hope jriver's creators will add the rtx options, that will automatically turned on with sdr or and mid low resolution movies.
and one more... actually jriver works better than win app or browsers, i think, because i didn't saw the broken frames, that some time happens in other soft i use for netflix. so thank you again for advice about jriver as netflix player. i try it before long time ago, but wasn't impress. now it's probably just best way to watch netflix. for ofline movies files i use only jriver very long time. just some confused with "red october" sign for codecs. hope authors not bloody commies lol
thank you again for all of you. thank you very much.

Remember Netflix plays protected content, so, no matter what your PC says, RTX or any upscaler will not work on protected content. That is why you see pixelation.

i get it, but why teaser looks as 8k with perfect hdr layer? so movies providers, who gave that !@% to netflix do this, for quality was bad enough, for push people go to cinema? they better be make that stuff not free, and for divided from general netflix price as option. this isn't odd this clear insanity. and why on torrent quality much better? same netflix splash screen same titles.

That is a question for the people torrenting the videos.
