Checking for Updates in JRiver Media Center 33.0.13 on a Mac
« on: August 21, 2024, 03:53:10 pm »

Though I believe most of the functionality is there for a hi-resolution music player (only intended use), the check for updates is giving me a "There was a problem checking for updates" response.  The install also seemed to take an extremely long time.
I am using a 2012 Mac Mini, 2.3 Quad Core Intel, 16GB of ram and OS 10.15.7

This is likely because there's no updates yet (and/or the update channel hasn't been created or enabled). I'm sure Bob will get everything squared away, time permitting of course. :)

Will get the update fixed asap. As for the install, first run will take a long time, especially on a new major version which needs to copy and update the library.
Even on minor version updates, the stock skins, data, etc need to be copied from the application image into the user area. If you have a spinner it will spin for a while but even SSD's take a bit of time.
