MC 33.37 amd 64 crashes
« on: November 02, 2024, 06:19:44 pm »

Hello:
On Ubuntu 24.04, now 24.10 MC is crashing.
I have noticed a few crashes with two earlier versions of MC.
At times it crashed while playing audio or watching mkv movies via MO4m4dia.
When it does , I checked my network to be sure  I am still online. The linux server still remain online.
I am sending a log with his report.

Thanks.

Before Oracular upgrade, I got 4 crashes.
so I do not think the crash is related
to the 24.10.
I sent a log to Bob privately.
thanks for the feedback.

The log is a bit confusing. Did it crash or hang?
How many files are in your watched folders (auto import folders)?

Hello:
It crashed. The network was live so was the Ubuntu server itself, but MC dropped. I had to reload MC.
A few days later, while I was doing some chores, I decided to listen to Grover Washington Soul Box vol 1 Flac.
Track 7 just stopped playing. I went to the screen-tv to see what gives.. It just stopped, but I was able to restart the audio playback.
Remember this crash and or Stop is not new. I wrote and complained about it in previous MC 32.
I just looked at the log , 3Mg size. I am not sure I will be able to attach it , I will try.
Thanks .

Maybe try rotating the log at a smaller size (in the logging options).

Maybe try rotating the log at a smaller size (in the logging options).
Before sending my first log to you, after the OS update  and installing 33.37. I did a reset of my log.
however, the size of the log I sent was about 2M, and today about 3.1M.
A few seconds ago, I did a reset again, and now I elected to limit the size to 5M.
As you know, I have a large database of over 5k mkvs, but trimming the database now to about 4800. I do lots of ripping, and with rippings, come tools running, and movies scraping. If these are reported, then the log will quickly grow in size.
