« on: November 11, 2024, 08:12:46 am »

When I open <Options> and then click on <Media Network> I get a crash immediately, every time, with MC33.0.38. on the MacStudio.
Log and crash report are attached.
Many thanks for any help

Did you allow network access?

Thanks, Bob
Local Network Access was and is enabled but unfortunately, 33.0.39 still crashes upon selecting <Media Network>.
EDIT: It looks like actual network access is working because I am playing media files from the NAS

Looking the where it dies doesn't make much sense.
Make sure MC isn't running (any version) and delete the contents of:
~/Library/Application\ Support/J\ River/Lock
folder

Could it be that the build that doesn't open is Intel only? I'm on a M2 Studio
EDIT: It opens fine on the MBP which is Intel.

Here is the latest crash report
Running in debug mode I never get to that code when I open the options window.
Would you please email me a library backup from MC33 with current settings?

The library was very helpful. Will you give build 40 a try?

Thank you, Bob
Glad it helped but unfortunately, .40 still crashes the same way.

Interesting. I wonder if it's something specific to my machine set-up.
Just for fun I just tried JRemote and it works just fine.

I added a bit more logging in that version. Perhaps post that?
Also try without Media Server enabled.

Sorry, Bob, which version are you referring to?
Also try without Media Server enabled.
I tried without Media Server and it still crashes. Crash report is attached.

I just tried .41 and still get hangs (Mac Min M4 with NAS) when I leave MC idle for a few hours --- I'm wondering if you let MC running in memory or do you exit it and restart.

I leave the MC server running by doing <File><Exit>
