Have tested with many videos, mkv/mp4 container, h264/h265 encoder, same behaviour always.
1. If I open the video file from within MC, video plays well until I decide to use full screen. Mouse hover on the top of the screen shows the controls. They work.
The problem starts when I want to quit full screen.
All MC section is turned into a solid grey area (around the video). Don't know all keyboard shortcuts, but Space and CMD+F work. Only forced stop (CMD+W) helps in this situation (close MC app seems the only option I have).
2. If I open the video file from the file explorer (finder), black screen is displayed, audio works well, space can pause/play the video. No controls are displayed on the screen. Show Notification bar or desktop macOS keyboard shortcuts show temporary the video (a window on the screen).
Any idea? This a macbook pro m2 running the latest macOS version (15.1).
Surely I can use VLC for this task but why MC is advertised as the best all around player? Or at least, do not force MC as the default player for videos in mac.
