Video problem with MC 33 0nly
« on: January 16, 2025, 04:08:06 pm »

Hello. On one pc only I am having a problem. On the same pc MC 30 works fine. The problem exists with recorded video and live video using my tv tuner. I took a screenshot. Oh and I did do a uninstall and then reinstalled. No change. Also live tv programming of old tv shows look fine. Even ones in color.
My screen resolution is 1360x768

Do I need to change a setting in MC33?

Here is the screenshot

Did you try updating your graphics driver? That looks like a weird pattern of errors.

I did try updating the video driver using Windows update. Nothing came up. About 14 other drivers did though(none pertaining to video as far as I can tell). In windows in Device manager I checked "Display Adaptors". Would that be correct?

Just wondering why all works fine with MC 30 but not MC 33 on the same pc. Something must be different. Not to worried what is going on as I can just stick with MC30 on this old HP desktop. All works perfect on 3 other pc's.

You should update the drivers from the GPU manufacturer's website and not from Windows Update. Windows Update isn't exactly the best place to update drivers from, not only can they be outdated they can cause other issues, in my past experience.

Then again you mention it's an old HP, maybe it's too old for newer MC versions? Maybe try changing the Red October option?

Thank you Awesome Donkey! I switched to Red October Standard and all is fixed.

The CPU in question is an Intel I5-2400. I just looked the cpu up and it first came out in 2011. So in PC years an antique.

A very big Thank You for your help!
