import restrictions?
« on: November 07, 2002, 09:28:41 am »

Gentlemen,

I have an important question: how do you import custom fields from MJ8 to MJ9 beta. I have diligently built a large cross referenced database in MJ8 using the three custom fields. I am running MJ on serveral machines and on my beta system, I installed MJ9 (.073) which uninstalled MJ 8.0.388 and seemed to perform the upgrade properly including a request to reboot then a resumption of import activity.

Upon complete, MJ9 runs fine but only 'custom2' was imported. I really need the other two custom fields to re-eatablish the database in 9. Also, 'custom2' does not seem to take a renaming (in options).

I have tried a clean install, also, with just the music files imported and no prior database info present. Same issue on import to MJ9 with only 'custom2' appearing.

I have invested a considerable number of hours in building a serious music database and would love to move it to MJ9. Please advise on a fix and I promise to tell all my friends how great MJ is!

Sorry for the redundancy, my post seemed to coincided with 'jhubers'.

I will await the next beta release. Thanks.
