Yeah I need to convert a bunch of stuff from cd, uncompressed wave and wmv file formats to mp3 and it starts then hoses up.
The progress just stops somewhere in and stops responding.
Sometimes it will get real close to the end which is frustrating.
I have tried every bitrate and quality setting for mp3 and mp3 vbr.

My sysinfo from Media Jukebox:
Media Jukebox PLUS 8.0.388

CPU: Intel Pentium III 799 MHz MMX
Memory: Total - 523 MB, Free - 256 MB

Oh and I did buy a liscense and all that.
I have the latest codecs from here.
Any help or urls greatly appreciated.

You could try the latest build from the downloads page.

More details would help. Pick one of the problems you mention and tell more about it.

Your problem could be ripping or encoding. Try ripping to wav just to see if that works.

this problem has been reported before

I currently have 3 wave files saved that MJ will not convert to MP3, it freezes the convert and stops, cX will allow you to deslect file file.

this prolem has been in MJ\MC for about 4 months that i know of.

This is ripping and encoding to mp3 from cd, uncompressed wav from MJ or wmv 192 that were ripped from cd to wmv by MJ.
I have build Media Jukebox PLUS 8.0.388
And I don't like what I have seen of 9 so far(it crashed my pc)

Oh and ripping to wav or wmv or mpa or uncompressed wave all work fine from cd. Or converting afterwards to any of these formats is fine too.
I can even convert mp3's to any of the above mentioned formats as well.

Did you have "personal security" on when you ripped to WMA?

If your machine is crashing you may have hardware or OS problems.

Attached Is A Wave File That Will Not Convert Using MJ

When you try to convert the Wave file it creates a mp3 Filename, and file size after you abort it since it just sits there is 1kb

also if the wave is taged in the MJ listing if you do get the wave to convert the Tags in the list are not saved in the fields in the MJ list correctly and Name Would be the Wave Filename this problem has also been around for sometime. are they related? don't know.

No personal security on wmv files or any others.
No crashing ever with 8 except the occasional ctd when it doesn't like cddb or my cd.
It is just when ripping or encoding to mp3 that it will just stop responding somewhere thru the song.
It will never complete period.

I don't think wmv to mp3 ever worked. That's video to audio.

By the way, i also tried to convert the wave file to Mp3 to with MusicMatch and it converted just fine

e-mail aborted (maybe to big) trying to send again.

other wave files convert fine in MJ

All my music and such are on a separate 60gb 7200 rpm wd hd
I have 10gb remaining at all times

JimH 3 wave files were sent to gateley today at the location provided that will not convert to MP3 using MJ8 and MC9
