moving Cover Art
« on: October 20, 2003, 07:06:35 am »

My JPGs for Cover Art are all in one Folder. Now I learn from my experiences and from this forum, that is is even better for different reasons to have them in the Album folder as "folder.jpg".
But how can i move them in theese folders.?Manually i have to open the Cover-Art folder, the Album folder and move it from there to there and rename it from *.jpg in folder.jpg. And that for a few hundred Cover Arts.  :-\ Shortly - a lot (lot!) of work.
MC knows which Cover Art is for which Album, maybe there is a way ?!
Or just a DOS Batch (yes, i know DOS) or something else. Every help is welcome.

As far as I know manually is the only way at this time.

Perhaps King Sparta or someone would be so kind as to create a plugin to do this?  You could try posting a request on the third party boards here.

Hmmm . . .  DOS eh?

Lisa, thanks. Maybe it's a way to post there, but I think the questions is too exotic to build a plugin for one Request?

@all: Any other Ideas? Its really a long time Job...

Lisa, right at the moment, i try your second tip, the "deltree" command. I am waiting for the result, the PC is just working. I will give you resp%&866%*'#

Use King Sparta's plug in. It won't move the images, but it will find the cover art and put it in the folder as folder.jpg

It's an option on the option tab.

what it does is it copies the files from the cover art folder to the media file folder as folder.jpg.

at that point you can delete or move all art in the cover art folder.

Having the cover art in the folder with the music as 'folder.jpg', is this a Windows XP only thing?  It doesn't seem to work in my Windows 2000  . . . am I missing a setting?

King,
i just download your Plug-In. It's a little bit complicated for me, but i will try, if it gets the Cover Arts from my Directory on the PC. At the Moment it asks every few seconds for an Internet Connection ?!
I didn't find it on the Homepage of MC because the Description of the Program iin the Download-Area is a little bit -let's say understated.
Is there something like a discription for the Program. I am a little bit lost, because i have to make a lot of checkmarks for only one function.

@King:
First of all i deleted the Cover Art/ Lyrics Finder i got from the MC Homepage. Then I loaded the Cover Art Finder from your HP and installed it. I connected to the Internet and that was it. All my Cover Arts from the local Folder where copied to the Album-Folder as "folder.jpg".
Maybe it is an Idea to make a Checkmark-Box with "Do not Search Cover Art in the Internet" or "only search local Cover Arts".

You saved me a lot of time, thanks King !
