Installation Config Hanging
« on: November 08, 2003, 09:35:31 pm »

After downloading and installing the new 9.1 (it went through an uninstall of my 8.x version) it asks me to upgrade my library otherwise it won't come up.  After answering yes, it hangs on slightly more than 10% of my library.  I let it sit for a couple of hours twice today and it always gets stuck at the same file (169 or 1411) and sits there until I kill it.  I'm using a dual Athlon 2.2 MP processors with win2k (all latest SP and patches), 512 memory and plenty of disk space.  I've considered cleaning out the registry and deleting any folders but wanted to check this forum first to see if there's a quick registry fix ....

Must be a bad file.

You can rename the folder the bad file is in (might take a little guesswork), then start MC.

Then rename the folder back and do MC > Right-Click > Library Tools > Update Files From Tags (always) in batches.  You should be able to find the problem file.

If you can find it, please send it to matt @ jriver.com (no spaces) so we can fix the problem.

Thanks!

Any chance you found the file so we can fix the problem?

If so, let us know if we can get it somehow. (matt @ jriver.com)
