My Favorite "Lights Out Music" Must Be

Listening to: 'Saltwater (Original)' from 'Behind The Sun' by 'Chicane'

With This Song You Can Turn Every Light Out And Set Back And Relax Listening To All The Levels Of Complexity Of The Music And Let your Mind Go Into The Clouds And Into Another World Of The Past.

What Is All Time Best "Lights Out Music"?

I'll go with E.L.P.'s Karn Evil 9.  " Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends..."

It might not be all that relaxing, but definitely "Lights Out"  8)

'Blue Room (Full Length)' from 'U.F.Orb (Bonus Disc)' by 'The Orb'

This track is a 40 minute long sort of ambient/dubby trip. Relaxing yet kinda funky. You can lay there and listen or get up and dance. Works well either way.

'Chill Out' by 'The KLF'

Although there is music on this album, it's really more of a collection of sounds you might here on a night time journey through the southern U.S. Sheep, Cows, trains, Elvis on the radio in the distance, chanting Tibetan monks...it's all there.

'The Box' from 'In Sides (Bonus Disc)' by 'Orbital'

This track is about 30 minutes long and might be described as sort of ambient baroque techno...yes, that is a harpsichord.

That all depends on what you plan to do once the lights are out. :P

I often listen to Escape by Enrique's Iglesias with the lights out.

Since I live in a cave with no windows (aka: basement), and only come out at nite my choice is: Andreas Vollenweider's "Caverna Magica" (Magic Cavern).

With the lights off, I think I prefer Genesis'  "The lamb lies down on Broadway"......
But then again, I also prefer it with the lights ON!
GREAT MUSIC!

Hmmmm...lights out music, eh?  Anything by Dead Can Dance (If I am feeling a bit sinister) or Sade (if I am felling...well...)  Depends on what is going on after the lights dim...

KLF Chill out and the Orb Blue Room are both excellent..

Enigma especially the MCMXII (or whatever thier first one is) if you not alone in the darkness.

Neil Halstead's "Sleeping On Roads"
Very spacy and dreamy if you are not trying to sleep  on a road.

Try Tosca's "Suzuki In Dub" and "Dehli 9"...particularly CD 2 from "Dehli 9".  Also check out Peace Orchestra, any CD...

Jon Lord's "Pictured Within", and come to think of it, Jon Anderson's "Toltec".
