No Sleep Timer Plug-in
« on: January 07, 2004, 11:47:44 pm »

I'm sorry but there is still no way to install the sleep timer plug-in.

Maybe it is not a big deal to others but it is a big deal to me.

I tried to revert to a pre-v10 version of Media Center and now it won't install the sleep timer. I know that version was working because I was using it before.

Either there is a major problem with the server at J River, a major problem with the new version that corrupts the registery that makes that work or there is someting wrong the the file of sleep time that J River has. (all speculation of course)

Could someone tell me if there is some problem with what MC is doing or what is happening with the registery / sleep timer?

This is kind of driving me crazy because I like to listen to my favorite music before I go to sleep - it helps to get rid of stress.

We know about it, and should have it fixed in one of the next few builds.

Hopefully you can handle counting sheep instead until it's fixed.

You jest, but I can empathize with his plight.

I used to be a "normal" sleeper where it was like, "Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh!  I'm trying to sleep!"

Then several years ago I started listening to talk radio when I went to bed.  Unfortunately, humans are very trainable creatures, so now, if there isn't am AM radio around (for instance, if I'm on a business trip), I find it very difficult to fall asleep.

So, shame on you, Matt, for making light of his situation.  You normal sleepers just don't understand and should have more pity on us oddball sleepers.  :P

Matt do not mean to make fun of you ,i'am sure of it.
And this problem  will be solved soon.

It is just that he has a kind of "cold shower" humour and do not use the small exctasy pill ::) :-* :'( ::) 8) ;D :D ;) :)

Matt:counting sheep is assuming that users know to count..
are you shure of it...if not ,better to fix it fast...
Another knid of 'cold shower' humour...

I never sleept more than few hours a night ,and i understand how sleeper can help.

Zev, when i have a look at your pic on the left, i understand why you sleep only a few hours in the night. In this sleeping position, it would be very hard for me to survive only a few minutes...

Matt, thanks for the update. I feel much better.

I just needed to have some kind of feedback that J River knew about it and would fix it. Wheeeeew.  ::)   Thank you.

Also, I didn't take offense to matt's comments but I know about not sleeping well.

I once had trouble sleeping and it caused me to get depressed and sometimes a little sick. When I finally started to sleep better - because I got a better mattress - I felt like a new person.

Thanks for all the support everyone.  :)

You may use temporarily a Software PC-Timer which switches off the PC after a programmed time. There are some handful of Freeware Tools in the WEB.

So, shame on you, Matt, for making light of his situation.

Maybe I need to start posting more regularly, I don't know, but everyone here seems to be taking me too seriously lately. :(  For the record, when I typed the above quoted statement, I was just kidding around.  I apologize if you really thought I was actually criticizing or berating Matt--I wasn't; it was just a joke.  ;)
