Feature Req -- Top of the Tops
« on: April 02, 2004, 04:18:53 pm »

Just an idea i had....

If album tracks are rated, be able to create a TOp 10 album listing from a smart list/view. Incomplete albums could be flagged or omitted.

could be top 10 by genre or by any custom field (decade, label etc)

This needs the ability to avg tracks scores of the album and use that as a criteria.

Thoughts people ?

well, that could be an interesting idea. I'm not sure how many people would use it though.

Well the people that would use it are those that rate their tracks. Its a chore, for sure, wish i did this when i started, but i think its a time-saver for the future. I know that i can write smartlists and have cool stuff come out. Its a way of customising one's collection rather than depend on media reviews or user reviews even.

I find this a pretty good way of knowing what i have and how good it is. Also helps to know which albums (if there was a Bottom 10) need replacing as time goes on.

there are ppl that have humoungous collections, but asking them how much of that is actually good,  reveals only a fraction of the total size.

If JRiver does not do it..i suppose an XSL solution is possible.
