Converting ra files to mp3 not possible ?

I have some real audio files that I would like to convert to mp3. I noticed however that this seems  not to be  possible. I get the message : unsupported.
Is this indeed not possible with MC or am I doing something wrong ?
If it is not possible with MC, is there another way to do it ?

I already found out that it can also be done with dBpowerAMP Music Converter, which I already had installed. However I was curious whether it could be done witrh MC or not.

i am surprised rm to mp3 is allowed. long time back 'streambox ripper' program was discontinued as real media went into litigation as it blocked such things. Now you can't get that program as the company has stopped distributing it.
