Mastiff: Multi-Zone Bug
« on: April 21, 2004, 03:53:30 am »

This has been around for some versions (probably since the ability to send playlists to a specific zone came), but I discovered it today since I seldom play music with a monitor on: When you send a playlist directly to a zone that's not the active zone, the display in the active zone changes from the correct info to for instance [Artist] [Album] [Name], and the progress bar jumps to the left (the beginning) and locks up there. The minutes, seconds, track number, number of tracks tracks in the playlist and bitrate works (at least - that's the one's I see). It corrects itself when the active zone jumps to the next track. NetRemote and DVDSpy (Girder plug-in) reports correct name, album and so on. This is with both the default skin and a couple of other skins.

I can't seem to reproduce this.

Could you give a step-by-step?

Thanks.

1. Start an mp3 track playing in a zone.
2. Send a playlist to another zone without changing the active zone (the function you gave me a month or so ago) with the mjextman command.

That's it. It happens on both the computers I have tried it on yet, and they have different OS (XP and 2K3).

I'm starting a song playing.

Then doing this from the command line:

mjextman.exe /Play "c:\1.ape|zone=1"

It works as expected.  Any more hints?

If you start a song playing in zone one and do that without changing zones I'm confused. Because that's when I get my error. It may be related to me having DVDSpy on my computers, though. Also I haven't tried with APE files (of which I have none), only MP3 files.
