Of course, I knew this would get tricky (but given that I've been building or managing code for 20 years, I also understand that half a spec is no spec at all)...
Ideally, I would be talking about all CDs. At the least, I could make do with audio CDs. However, this would still mean that I would need another package to backup data CDs (such a package would also copy audio CDs of course which going back to my original post, is still a redundancy).
From a user perspective, a CD is a CD is a CD (even simpler, a CD is one of those silver / gold / black / etc plastic disks that I put in my CD/DVD player and it does something).
The later assertion brings up another point: As a media player/library/copier/etc, Media Player should be able to copy the content from all these plastic disks (possibly excluding "data" CDs). I might postulate that this should include DVDs as well as audio CDs. A backup and/or local copy of this type of media is equally desirable to me.
