Can't ALT+TAB from Theater View
« on: June 19, 2004, 11:17:36 am »

Even with the "Keep Focus" option unchecked I can't seem to ALT+TAB and switch to a different program from Theater View.  I can switch to normal view and then ALT+TAB but this is not very convenient with my HTPC (I have to switch to normal view, switch to another program, switch back to MC, and then switch back to Theater View).  Any way around this?

Does anyone know how to have Theater View give up the focus?  I'm using Windows XP and this is making my HTPC pretty annoying and probably will be unusable for others in my house...

Theater View is always on top.  To use other programs, exit Theater View.

Thanks for the response, Matt.  If it hasn't already been done, I would like to request that this is changed.  It makes things difficult for my HTPC and requires 4 button presses on my remote while it only should take 2.

Re: Virtual Desktop Manager
« Reply #4 on: July 11, 2004, 06:20:54 pm »

So, to get around this I thought I would use the Virtual Desktop Manager in Windows XP (a "PowerToy" program).  This allows you to maintain up to 4 desktops with different programs running in each one and switch between them.  So, I could have MC in TheaterView on one desktop and everything else in another desktop and switch back and forth this way.  Right? Wrong.  Even in "standard" view MC shows up on every desktop!!  This is the only program that seems to behave this way.  Is this not a bug?
