Media Center 11.0.159 Alpha Available
« on: December 21, 2004, 05:40:28 pm »

We're still working on Media Center 11.  We appreciate your feedback on it, but MC11 may not work as expected and we can't yet fully support it.  Some plugins still do not work.

We recommend that you use MC10 below, but if you want to use MC 11 while we're building it, PRICES are here:
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=23311

If you want a more trouble-free experience, please download Media Center 10 here:
http://www.musicex.com/mediacenter/download.html

Media Center 11 is available here:

  • Several memory and speed enhancements -- like database and skin unloading when minimizing MC
  • Much of MC's interface can be translated to other languages
  • Integrated database import and update with smart broken linking repairing, and other nice features

  • Document support with full text searching / indexing
  • Pane auto-sizing
  • Tile view that allows fully customizable Track Info style tiles to be used in file lists

* Move / Copy Disk File... not working from right click remembered command - Fixed

The move/copy disk file... command only works from the Library Tools right click menu, not from the remembered commands menu.

* Update Order not working in Recently Imported Playlist - Fixed

Track sequence is not being remembered when tracks are moved to Recently Imported, nor does the Update Order command work when track sequence is corrected.

Could we get more info about this? How does it works? Does this mean we can watch video or pictures inside track info template?

 ?
I discovered that MC 10 can REALLY CRASH when importing really long file names over a network. I don't think it is MC's fault - I have seen the same problem trying to copy similar files over the network. Same files will cause no trouble on the local machine. I had trouble finding the files in question because there was no log or clear identification of the files that caused the crash.

Even if it is a Windows type problem, is there anything you could do to provide better error reporting when this happens?

Thanks

Hi,

Not sure if this is a bug or not. If you have the Tree View (Tree and View, Tree) options set to auto size width you can not change the Tree width manually.

Could this be changed or allowed, or was it not allowed for some other reason.  If there is a reason then I will be happy to leave it be.

Regards

Could we get more info about this? How does it works? Does this mean we can watch video or pictures inside track info template?

What this seems to me after loading this version is that with external apps files i.e. real player and anything using direct x that you can now use all visualation, 3D visulations and track info.   Where in the past this was not possible all you got was a screen saying something like, 'not possible for external application'.

So now it does not matter what file you are playing you can always have the same display options like you can in Real Player and Windows Media Player.

Hope that helps

To All the team, Thankyou for a decent piece of software. there isn't much out there like this.
I have purchased a liscence and am currently enjoying ver 11.0.158.
I have noticed a couple of oddities.
1) Sometimes the album art gets onto the wrong album (shows on the wrong album). Love.Angel.Music.Baby changed to Weezer ?. I have to remove album art and add from file or internet to fix.
2) The sound played after a rip seems to default to 'windows event' (I think chord.wav) not the one I chose.

MC 11 should have handling for this.  Please make sure you're using the latest MC 11.

Having a problem with the last few builds. The thumbnails displayed do not match the cover art saved within the mp3 file. When cover art is saved in a file, and the file properties are open to image, some of the cover art thumbnails do not match. Also, if you delete the cover art, the thumbnail is not being removed from view. But when you do, the file property field shows (no image).

Oddity at least:

Out of curiosity I clicked on Nero Fast CD-Burning Plug-in and below it opens a folder "Aydin". Each subsequent click on this folder opens another "Aydin", and so on and so on...

Reposting same problem since last beta.

Playlist transfers to handheld iRiver H140 still not working.  The files transfer fine but the .m3u does nolt get created on the device.  I can export the playlist to a .m3u file but the H140 does not like the drive letter and colon at the beginning of each line.  Z: is my music drive.  Editing the .m3u file and removing Z: allows the H140 to use it.

In the options I have the volume label for the H140 set correctly.  I have tried entering ROOT, \ or \\ for location of the .m3u files but nothing still shows up when transferring.

Hi

I bought the upgrade from 10 to 11 and I'm using 11.0.159 right now. When trying to synchronise my iPod nothing seems to happen. The music continues to play in the background but MC seems to be frozen. There is no pop-up window appearing for progress information. I have to close MC and restart.

Inside "Options" for Handheld I selected "Configure transfer options". There I wanted to select a few playlists to synchronise to, but the window with the playlists doesn't scroll and there is no scroll bar.  I can only see the first 6 playlists (size of window), the rest is hidden.

Hope someone knows a solution. Thanks in advance...
