For the moment I'm using Media Jukebox 8, which is a great player, but I'm looking forward to buy MC 11 as soon as it's done.

It'd be nice if you gave it a feature I've never seen in any other player, that is:
Selecting a part of a song to play repeatedly, like for example when we want to translate a song or to write down its lyrics. It would be nice just selecting the part of the song we want to loop.

I'd be surprised if there wasn't a way to do this in MC, I could be wrong. But I know for a fact that PowerDVD can do this quite easily, and it plays a lot of media other than DVD's.

Is it me or the translation engine isn't working no more ?

Something is weird with the "Find CD" and "Artist Info" under "Playing Now" in the tree....

Whe I first start MC, everything works great: "Artist Info" brings me to Allmusic.com and "Find CD" works as expected.

But that may work as little as once (usually more often). But for sure, at some point, clicking any of these 2 tree items will not work and simply present the MC main HTML page: index.htm.

Closing and restarting MC clears the problem, but only for a while. Eventually, I always get to the point where only MC's index.htm is presented.

Has anyone seen this also?

Michel.

Here is my current list of things that I feel need attention in the alpha MC11.

  • Recently Imported does follow my saved sort order.
  • Program core dumps on 99% of my track deletes - the files do get deleted, but they are still in the db, the only way to get rid of them is to do an "import" which cleans up the db.
  • Replay Gain Burning does not work - burns at over 100db gain.
  • Failed to Load Posix skin error on about 5% of the times I start MC

If I purchase Media Center 11 Apha now, will I be able to obtain the final release of Version 11 without paying an additional fee?  By the way, Version 11 Alpha seems to work great.

Media Center Crash
« Reply #56 on: January 03, 2005, 12:22:20 am »

While looking at the cover art problem I have, I was rapidly clicking the Next button from playing now. As soon as a song loaded started playing and there was or wasn't cover art I'd hit Next.
Within 5 songs MC crashed with a Dr Watson box.

I keep my 'start bar' vertical against the right side of my desktop (as I have more width than height on my monitor). When I maximize MC11.0.162 and enter 'browse library" the vertical scroll bar appears near the middle of the window/screen - no doubt it is annoyed that if it put it on the right edge of MC it would be obstructed by the start bar as the start bar's location is not factored into deteremining the size of a maximized MC11 window.

My "recent playing now lists" is not surviving across program launches.

Since .162 tagging of mp3 Files seem to be buggy. After inserting new tags, the filename is changed in some situations. This happened two times. On both the filenames ended with a bracket ")". MC cut of the last brackets and the "3" of the file ending.

Example:
MC changed "yellow submarine (original remix).mp3" into "yellow submarine (original remi.mp"

This is hard to find, because this file isn't shown any more in MC...

Not sure if this has been mentioned or not but....
When using Mini-Me version the Always-On-Top does not seem to work.
Also the inactive-transparent has a wierd way of activating:
1) Switch to Mini-Me form
2) Select Inactive-Transparent
3) Select Some other window on the screen and it will not go transparent. Quick check of Menu item Inactive-Transparent shows that it is NOT checked
4) Now switch to a second skin (I'm toggling between Caliber and Blade, love them)
5) Select some other window on the screen and it WILL go transparent.  Quick check of Menu item Inactive-transparent show that is IS checked.
This same scenario has to be followed to turn off Inactive-Transparent
