Rip Entire CDs as one file
« on: January 20, 2005, 09:44:31 pm »

Is it possible to rip an entire audio cd so that it is stored as one file (instead of having a seperate file for each song)?   I have some CDs that have songs that blend into each other and I would like to keep them all together as one file.  Any suggestions?

Thanks for you help,
Michael

I believe you can do this when ripping to .ape. I don't have much experience with ape files but I think I've read that you can customize the cue file(?). Also with ape, playback is gapless between tracks.

If you playback mp3 files, set the crossfade to .5 sec and the transition between tracks is virtually imperceptable.

If you ask this question in the Media Center forum you might get more responses.

Media Center 11 can do that. It can also write CUE sheet files for playback of individual tracks.
