Waht does "fixing broken links" actually do?

Yes, I know. It fixes broken links. :P But can someone explain more precisely what is meant by that?

If you use a tool like Windows Explorer to move a file (outside of MC) that creates a broken link in MC.  The database points to a file location that no longer exists.

And does MC remove this link or try to find it?

err...it says it cant find it and removes it.

There is a smartlist you can use to find the broken links with v11 before "fixing brokem links".

Check that and then if they are really lost MC will clear them up.

I Did Today, See My Other Post

I may write another one if this guy i am working with will fix his FTP control to work correctly with my ftp server (ftp.getfile progressbar event does not work) he does have a nice set of controls for a low cost ($150-$250)

I had a Cat Scan Last Year, And When It Got To My Brain, The Tech Thought Somehow A Pea Got Into My Skull.

But you also must have it work across OS platforms, and having the control programed in "C" helps speed things up a bit.

C would speed things up but i dont think it might be signifcant here as it's not a server (or have i misunderstood that part). I was under the impression it would be more of a ftp client.
