Sportscar Pizza Delivery
« on: March 24, 2005, 05:36:05 pm »

How about a pizza joint that delivers pizzas in high performance sports cars. Every 20th pie, you get a ride in the car.

BTW, if you're feeling brave, you can try this build:
ftp://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music/MediaCenter110224.exe

Rick Fritz rejoined the team Monday after a few year hiatus.  He was one of the founding fathers of Media Jukebox.  We're lucky to have him back.

He's been busy doing some low-level architecture redesign that this build features.  Proceed with caution.

Kudos to Rick for a job well done, and welcome back :)

11.0.224 (3/24/05)

1. NEW: UPnP Server now supports movies.
2. Fixed: Backslashes would get replaced by underscores in Rename from Info.
3. NEW: Added movie support to PSP. (requires videos to be in proper format)
4. NEW: Reworked the internal program design. (may create bugs -- use with caution)

It's been working for an hour and a half here.

Thanks, Rick!  And welcome back!

What kind of internal changes?

The changes are in the way the program works internally and in the way we can compile different versions.  At this point, it should have zero impact on the experience of using it.

This should allow us to customize MC more easily.

The track info page doesn't change from track to track. If I stop and start a song it gets updated but if I click next it doesn't. Changing the track info display(arts and lyrics only to wishyou) does not update either until I stop and start.

MC process does not terminate after using my media player.

It terminates OK under other conditions (media player is not used but a UPnP connection is established, media player not active with UPnP server started, UPnP server not started)

When the process doesn't terminate, it's visible in the Process tab of Task Manager, but not in the Applications tab.

  • Absence of alternatives clears the mind nicely.

This thread title evokes memories of the first chapter of SnowCrash and the ultimate sportscar pizza delivery scene:
