Why did I have to re-register?
« on: April 05, 2005, 02:51:41 pm »

I have been using MC10.0173 for at least a year or so.  Today when I went to play a file it said my trial period had expired.  I struggled to find the file it was after and then discovered that I can only re-register 9 more times.  I don't suppose I will end up using the 9 re-registers unless this keeps happening.  Is there something up with my computer or do you periodically have to re-register?

Have you recently changed the name of your computer?

YUP, I forgot about that one never mind.  I changed the name trying to fight a virus I picked up.  I suppose 9 registrations will do.  If I decide to put a laptop in my boat do I need to buy another copy of MC or can I run my version on two personal machines?

One license works for machines you own.  The FAQ is here:  www.jrmediacenter.com/purchase.html

Jim, speaking of registrations, here's a question I was wondering. I purchased 11 a long time ago and have been running it on a couple of my machines. It got to a point where I thought it was stable enough and wanted to install it on my other two computers. I had to re-register 11 which kind of surprised me since it's beta code.

Does this mean when 11 is officially released, all the registrations will be set back to 10?

No.  The MC10 license and the MC11 license are different.

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear. My MC11 licenses are sitting somewhere at 8 or 9. When 11 is officially released, will my MC11 licenses be set back to the number 10?

No, your restores are 10 per year.  Please check the FAQ.
