master and slave

If you install the drive yourself and it's an IDE model (most are), try to make it the "master" drive on it's own IDE channel. If it must share a cable with another device, that device should be a cd-rom drive and the burner should be the "master" device. It's not a good idea to have the burner share a cable with the hard drive.

How do i know that i have my configuration with CDW as master?

The fact that i am sure that the cable is plug only on my cdr-dvd and cdw is enought?

There are jumpers on the back of drives usually right next to the 40 pin connector that say MASTER, SLAVE or C/S (Cable Select).  Usually there is a sticker on the drive that shows the proper positions.

Make sure that the burner is set to MASTER and that it's attached to the END of the IDE cable.   Set the CDR-DVD to SLAVE and make sure it's connected to the MIDDLE connector on the cable.

There should be a graphic on the drives for the jumper setting.

If both drives are set to CS (Cable Select) on one IDE channel then the one closest electrically to the motherboard is considered the "Slave", and the farthest, "Master".

If there is only one drive per IDE channel than it really doesn't matter what the jumper is set to (but I'd set them to CS or Master anyhow).

Keep in mind - you need to make the BIOS aware of your final setup.
