Feature expired?
« on: September 29, 2002, 11:17:20 am »

I registered MJ a long time ago, and it worked fine for months. Recently I had to restore my computer and re-install all the apps.

Now when I try to copy songs with MP3 encoding, I get a message telling me my license for that feature has expired!

I'm not quite sure how long I had been using MJ before I had to re-install everything, but I know it was longer than 30 days.  Something is not right here.

This is version 7.2.280.  I did restore the license after I reinstalled.

Please try the FAQ under Jukebox / Purchase above.

Okay, so are you pointing me to the part that talks about "I restored my license from the "rrg" file, but Media Jukebox still thinks I'm not registered. What do I do now? "

I tried clicking on the link provided (MJ not open), the file downloads, then I get the error "Destination file is in use. Cannot continue".

So, does this lead me to the next section in the FAQ:
Q: I can't restore my license. It doesn't work.
A:  You are SOL. Buy another license.
?

I just want to avoid paying for something I've already paid for!

It's beginning to sound like I may just have to pay for an upgrade to version 8. But if I do that, how do I know I won't have similar problems again?

download the latest MJ8 and try it.

I think it restored MJ7 rrg files not sure if that has changed (don't think so).

you might want to upgrade to MJ9 now before the price goes up.

Thanks for the reply, King. Going to check into v9. Although after reading the FAQ I was directed to (the part that said if the license file won't restore, you just have to buy another license), I'm wary.
No answer on whether I can expect any better with a newer version.

I guess MJ is a sideline business for someone?

It hasn't. I'm using the MJ7 rrg file (though I haven't had to restore in like...forever).

Carl,
How many restores do you estimate you've done? Limit was raised to 10. If your below that than I'd do as the King suggested but uninstall first after downloading latest MJ.
