Support for the Avel Linkplayer2?
« on: July 15, 2005, 10:22:11 am »

hello everyone,
I'm wondering if anyone know first hand if the Avel Linkplayer could be used with MC11.  Thanks a lot for your comment.

This device is closely related to the Buffalo LinkTheater which does work with MC.

Check the AVS Forum, where you'll find plenty of discussion on these devices.

hello,  Thanks to the trial version of MC, I decided to simply give it a try few minutes ago.  In short, the current version of MC and the uPnP server does recognized the Avel Linkplayer2.  MP3s play fine as well as movies and pictures.  This is a great start.  MC is now very high on my list for purchase.

I'm wondering now if the interface (just a basic folder navigation now) can be change with uPnP devices?

Thanks everyone...  I just though I should drop be and share the good news.

Thanks for reporting this.  We have an iodata linkplayer2 on order.

The view on the UPnP client is whatever the view is in MC.   Take a look at the options you have for changing the "view schemes" in MC.

good morning,   I have another beginner question, I'm sorry about that.  I wondering if it is possible to switch to theater view on an UPnP device in general and the linkplayer in particular.  This view look quite impressive and would be great on HDTV.  Note: right now, I'm getting the folder view which is nice already with all the option for organization.

thanks again,

No, you can't switch the look of the menu on the UPnP device.  I believe the protocol may support it, but MC does not.

Jim,

Were you ever able to confirm that the Linkplayer2 works with MC?  If so, can you provide any feedback on how it compares to other media players?

I did a search and didn't see any more recent posts on this device.

TIA...
