Theater View on top
« on: July 17, 2005, 06:12:35 pm »

Theater view will not release focus; it remains the top most window. This is true when i launch a program from Theater View's custom menu or just using "alt-tab" to switch windows.  I have uncheked "Keep Focus" in Theater View options.

I'd like to use MC as the center of my Home Theater setup.  If this bug can't be fixed, I can work around it if there is a system command I could send to minimize MC via Girder.  is there one? (I've searched without luck)

There's a setting for "always on top".  Did you try that?

I've run into the same issue trying to get at the TheaterView buttons to make them targets for Girder, but I was never able to get another window to show.  "Always on Top" and "Keep Focus" do not seem to have an affect.

Tomrusse, you can minimize TheaterView from Girder, but you have to do it in two steps.  First, switch to standard view.  Then, you can minimize.  Both commands are available in the provided Girder file.

Sorry for the delay.  Work gets in the way...

JimH, yes I verified that "Always on top" is unchecked.  In fact the results are identical irrespective of whether that option is checked or not.

Godavego, I didn't see the girder file atached to your message but I believe I understand the general idea.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.  The provided Girder file I'm referring to comes from MC11.  See the Data\Extras\Girder\MC9_131.gml file in the MC11 program directory.

I'm having the same problems,

Launch Internet Explorer from Theater View and MC stays on top so I can't see IE.

Sure I can use Girder to minimise MC11, and then switch back to theater view afterwards but I didn't have to do this quite a few builds back and in throey with the keep focus option I shouldn't have to.

This will be an issue for those that don't use Girder (and with the new price for V4 there will be quite a few that will try other options first I'm sure).

I find this too but just assumed that you cannot launch IE as a "program". Will work fine as a webpage inside MC though. Try launching something else like notepad.exe. Does this work? It works for me and when I close notepad, TheaterView comes back into focus.

I'm using MC 11.0.310
