DSP audio nonfunctional

I just purchased Media Center and the DSP effects and equilizer are not working. Is this a fixable problem?

MC uses these on formats it plays internally.  What codec are you using?

mp3 mostly. the dsp audio functions works only when i first download the program then it does not work after the first song is over, or after stopping playback.

Try switching MC's playback from wav out to direct sound or vice versa.
