Non Responsive Areas of the GUI
« on: February 26, 2006, 06:24:11 am »

This post is for any of those areas of Media Center that are not
as responsive to the user as they should be!

I'm opening the post with the right click menu for selecting visualisations
in Playing now.  It takes around 20 seconds on my machine.  I've added Whitecap
to my visualisations, but nothing else.  Does it need to take so long just to display a menu?

Anyone else know of any places where the GUI is less responsive than it should be?
Post it here!

Works just fine for me, Chriz.

I would like to take the OT opportunity to tee off from your topic and talk about how fast and responsive 11.1.130 seems compared to 11.0.xxx.  FWD / BKWD, Importing, analyzing, converting, all seem spanking fast, downright zippy.

I totally agree, things are much better than they were,
and 99% of stuff is dead zippy.  :)
I've got two machines here which suffer the problem
I've mentioned, and I think it's probably down to having whitecap installed.
(One was a pretty much clean install of MC mit Whitecap yesterday)
I've noticed it only happens the first time after you've loaded MC.

However when showing MC off to friends et all, it's somewhat not cool
when it does stuff like sitting at a menu for 20 secs.
