Hide/Show plugins question
« on: January 03, 2006, 09:40:39 am »

Hi!
I'm about to upgrade from 11.0 to 11.1 but remembered I saw a post about problems with the new plugin handling.

Somewhere in this forum, I saw something about start/stop plugins had changed in the 11.1 version of MC and that there was some sort of problems with it. I can't really remember the issue, but I think it was about MC not saving the state from session to session. Could be something else as well, I can't say.

Could someone kindly update me on this? Mostly because I turn on and off the Audioscrobbler plugin several times/day and in order for it to work, I have to restart MC, otherwise the program crashes when it reaches 50% of a song.

Thanks!
/Martin

That's a bug in the Audioscrobbler plug-in.  Check the FAQ here and find the thread on crashes to read more.  I believe you have to be logged in if it's running.

Thanks Jim! I know the AS plugin is kind of crappy, but I just wondered if there was any problem with MC's handling of plugins on/off state. :) I'm positive I saw this in a bug report somewhere...but I don't know if it's fixed (whatever the problem was)

It isn't an MC problem.

I'm sorry, I see that I was unclear.

My current situation is like this:
* I am using MC11.0.xxx
* I'm using the AS plugin, buggy as it is. Whenever I start it, I have to restart MC in order for it to work. This is not an issue, I can live with that.

BUT

I read in one bug report, not long ago, that MC11.1 itself had an issue with plugins, not only AS. Since I can't remember what the problem was, I can't be more clear.

So with this background, my question is:
Do MC11.1 still have a bug that for example forgets the on/off-state of plugins or is there any other problem related to plugins?
Otherwise, I'm jumping on the train to 11.1!

I hope you understand my question a bit better now...:)

Yes, that is more clear.
I run several plugins in 11.1.90 and have no issues with their status changing without me doing it.
Only that issue with audioscrobbler.

If you remember a bug post from before, you could check the change logs posted in the builds or wait and see if the person that reported it has retested the particular thing you mention.

There are a couple of builtin plugins that can't be hidden right now, even though there's a hide button there, but they don't turn themselves on/off.

Great! I can't wait to try the new library view scheme thingy...hope it doesn't wreck my current schemes too bad :)

I'm off to MC11.1!

Thanks!
