Logitech Keyboard
« on: February 11, 2006, 07:33:28 pm »

Having recently started to use media center, i must say im loving it. But one experience isnt so good.

My logitech keyboard with the multimedia keys wont work, unless MC is maximise and focused. Other programmes use the keyboard except this.

Ive tried changing the settings in advanced but nothing works. Anyone got ideas?

Try uninstalling the Logitech software.

don't uninstall the logitech software just yet...

have a read of this thread here first: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=27004.0

paulr and I had some fun working a few things out with our user.xml files.

My "media" button launches MC.
My 3 "audio presets" buttons will launch MC if it's not already running, and begin playback of one of 3 configured playlists.

Also, to get your play/pause/stop/next/prev buttons to work, this tip from unrealreality works perfectly for me, maybe it will for you too.

did you read unrealreality's post too?

also, did you experiment with the choices available in MC's options?

see tools > options > general > advanced > media key mode

I have been meaning to post regarding UberTools for all Logitech gear. You can set any key for any funtion and it runs as a modified version of SetPoint. I can put it up on my server if you can't find it.

Have the same problem. ( as described above).

uTools doesn't help in this case. They add additional keys to be set in GUI, but it isn't going to solve some conflict between keyboard and MP.

I have been looking for solution on many forums --> have found nothing.  May be it's a good idea for MP development group to contuct logitech support? many people use logiteck keyboards, many of them would like to use MP...

UberOptions is good, but your're right it's not perfect. The only thing I can't do with MC is Volume Control on the media mouse or the keyboard. Although I haven't tried editing the xml yet. Anyone done this for the volume issue?

Okay for the record:

Keyboard LX700 works when you follow the XML tweaks linked above.

The 2.47 Setpoint, both x64 and xpSP2 versions, cripple all media buttons when MC is not in focus.

I just decided to get another Logitech MediaPlay mouse instead of an ATI Remote Plus for the laptop>Saitek system because I hate touchpads and realized this is the perfect solution.

Fortunately, un-installing Setpoint 2.47 and installing Setpoint 2.40 fixed the "out of focus" problem for the MediaPlay mouse on XP & X64 for me, so don't give up.

*If you want Uber Options, make sure you install w/ No App Overides.

Hi guys - what is the utools you are referring to?

I have a Logitech UltraX keyboard - a beautiful keyboard BTW - has limited media keys but they work with MC except pressing the media key brings up WMP :(.

Set point doesn't appear to recognise the UltraX keyboard. Might this utools help me get the media key launching MC?
