bug? tracks showing up two times
« on: May 01, 2006, 02:58:28 pm »

On some albums, the tracks are showing up two times. That means that when playing a album, each song is played twice...

The strange thing is that I cannot see any pattern on which file types where this occur. MC version is 11.1.172. Anyone else having this problem?

Let your mouse cursor hover over each of two files that have the same name.  What's different?

last time this came up it was caused by .m3u files.

MC was listing both the references in the .m3u file and the physical files themselves.

My memory of the subject is a little dim, but I'm sure it was related to recently imported views, or perhaps internal 'my computer' views, where the .m3u file resides in the same directory as the track files.

Moving the mouse over the tracks shows the exact same info (yes, also same filename...). There are non m3u files in the library that messes this up.

It's safe to delete the entries for the duplicates.  Check that you're not deleting both entries.

Well, thanks for the advice, but my music library consists of approx 15000 tracks. I am not planning to search through it to delete all the duplicats...
