Sorting in 'Playing Now'
« on: May 05, 2006, 04:32:00 am »

Can anyone explain why, when an album in the audio section is played - the track sort order in "Playing Noiw" does not stay in track sequence?

Surely this is a very basic requirement.
This does seem to be a recent probelm, and I am sure previous versions did this ok.

You can define any sorting you like in "Customize Current View"

Also, make sure you don't have shuffle mode enabled.

You're a good person to admit it.  About half the time I take a problem to Matt, I come back with my tail between my legs.  ;)

The shuffle behavior of MC is strange to me....."physically" re-arranging tracks is handy for making playlists I guess, but more often than not, it is frustrating when listen in shuffle mode and browsing Album Tiles.

I see the value in Playing Now but a toggle or even isolating single album lists (which you would most likely want to view in sequential track order) would make sense to me.

I don't care either way what list Shuffle is applied... But...

I care DEEPLY about the fact that it is a very "destructive" action button right between a couple "safe" buttons.

It's important to note that it's an ACTION button, not a state button or any kind of menu. It doesn't belong next to those other buttons for that reason alone. The fact that it is so dangerous is simply cements the deal.

I accidentally clicked it once when I was DJing when I meant to hit the DSP Studio button... I was totally F$@&ed!!! No undo, no recourse. Just take it in the shorts.

Please please please take that button off the panel and bury in the Player menu.

PLEASE!

Thanks
Jeff

I don't mind moving the Shuffle button, but please don't bury it in a menu. I have a supposedly random playlist that I use quite often that gives back only 2 songs per artist for 4 hours worth of music. The 2 artist songs usually appear somewhat near each other so I always hit Shuffle as soon as soon as it gets to Playling Now and click it again to unshuffle it. That makes it more random. Of course I guess if it was in a menu I could always add it to the toolbar.

Why not allow the shuffle button to be placed on the tool bar :)
